The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore has published the Technical Specification for Security Requirements for Cellular Devices (IMDA TS CD-SEC Issue 1) on 1 July 2022, which come into force on January 2, 2023.
This Specification defines the minimum technical security requirements for cellular devices to better safeguard communication networks from security threats in the area of connection efficiency. It also includes the security requirements for Access Control and Over-The-Air (OTA) updating.
On 1 July 2023, all applicable cellular devices for local use in Singapore are required to comply with the above requirements as well as the IMDA Technical Specification for Internet of Things (IMDA TS IOT) or IMDA Technical Specification for Cellular Mobile Terminal (IMDA TS CMT)respectively and register the equipment with IMDA.
