Announcement: Renewal of certificate of conformity (coc) that has expired for more than six months
Announcement Ref. No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/23/0009 renewal of certificate of conformity (coc) that has expired for more than six months (6).
As of December 13, 2023, the Online Certification for Communication & Multimedia products (e-ComM) system has been enhanced, affecting the renewal process of Certificates of Conformity (CoC). CoCs that have an expiration date of more than six (6) months will now be automatically blocked or suspended for renewal. According to clause 4.3 of the Certification Agreement eTAC/DOC/01-1, the system will suspend the CoC, providing prior notice. If no action is taken by the Certificate Holder within fourteen (14) working days, the CoC may be recommended for cancellation to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Impacted applicants have a 30 day grace period from the announcement date to renew their CoCs. Failure to renew within this period will result in the closure of the approved Type Approval application, requiring a new Type Approval application for the impacted model's importation.
