NCC Approves Fifth Amendment Draft for Low-Power RF Equipment, Meeting Public Demand for Latest Telecom Technology

The National Communications Commission (NCC) in Taiwan has approved the fifth amendment draft of the "Technical Specifications for Low-Power Radio Frequency Equipment" on January 31, 2024. The subsequent publication process will be carried out in accordance with the law.

The update, focused on the 5.945 GHz ~ 6.425 GHz frequency range, aligns with international standards and supports the latest Wi-Fi technologies. With these changes, equipment manufacturers can seek NCC approval more efficiently, potentially boosting the availability of cutting-edge telecommunications devices for consumers. The amendment, following a smooth pre-announcement process, is set to be implemented starting from the publication date.
