INDOTEL awarded Regulator of the Year 2023

The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (INDOTEL) was awarded “Regulator of the Year” at the Conecta Latam Awards 2023 for its exceptional contributions to the regulation of the telecommunications sector in the Dominican Republic, thus contributing to improving the industry standards and encouraging its growth and development. Among the important projects carried out, the 700 MHZ and 3.5GHz bands were offered to tender for the implementation of fifth generation mobile networks; becoming the second country in Latin America to have commercial 5G networks. They have also recently begun a new process to award new radio spectrum licenses.
