SUBTEL Type Approval

SUBTEL (Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones) is the regulatory agency for telecommunications in Chile. Products utilizing Radiofrequency, Cellular, or Satellite technology require approval and certification before being marketed in Chile.

Chile typically does not require in-country testing. Existing test reports are generally sufficient for the homologation process, with technical documents reviewed and validated during approval.

Chile does not require local representation but does have labeling requirements depending on the type of equipment.

Chile imposes restrictions on the maximum radiated power output based on the frequency and use of the equipment. Exceptions may be granted based on new test reports issued by a certified laboratory.
