Bhutan Telecom Limited (BTL) is phasing out 3G network
The Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA) published a notification letting the public know that Bhutan Telecom Limited (BTL) is phasing out its 3G network. They are doing this to make room for more advanced technologies like 4G and 5G. They are gradually shutting down 3G base stations across the country. Manufacturers are encouraged to upgrade their SIM cards to 4G compatible ones.
