New technical standards for mobile terminal equipment

The Comisión de Regulación de las Comunicaciones (CRC) has published a new version of the technical standards (Circular 155  2024) that applies to homologation of mobile terminal equipment.

The circular issued by the Communications Commission Session updates the technical standards applicable to Mobile Terminal Equipment (ETM) that use the bands identified in the country for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), as well as the conditions applicable to landline and satellite telephones.

The issuance of the circular complies with number 7.1.1.2.5 of article 7.1.1.2 of Resolution CRC 5050 of 2016, through which it was established that through this act the technical standards would be established to guarantee compliance with the limits of exposure to electromagnetic fields and compatibility with the frequency bands for IMT services assigned in Colombia.
