Telecom
approval in Taiwan is issued by the Directorate General of
Telecommunications (DGT) and by private recognized certification bodies
(RCB's). Testing is required for most equipment.
Previously a separate EMC approval was required from the Bureau of
Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), but DGT may now evaluate
EMC conformity for telecommunications equipment together with telecom
function and issue certification for both on the same certificate.
Non-telecommunications ITE requires EMC certification from BSMI.
